Hi all
When i take a snapshot i get all the snapshot window in the pictures plus the bar at the bottom. How do i get rid of that? It never used to happen. Is it to do with the new update on the release candidate?

Thanks.

I'm at work so I can't double-check this, but I think there's an option like 'Show UI' in the snapshot window...if it's selected, that might explain why you're seeing the bar.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

I think this may be broken in the newest release candidate (1.20(9)). I haven't experimented with it fully but even with the "show UI" option UNchecked, I am still seeing menu bars, chat windows, &c in my snapshots and I never used to.

The UI is the user interface - the menus and buttons and things that you use to interface with SL, and which you usually don't want in your snaps.

That's basically it... When you're taking the snapshot, it's one of the options in the capture window. RC9 hasn't completely broken it, I have 2 snapzilla shots up from RC9 now. The one thing I noticed is that it's MUCH slower right now. When I take the snapshot, the UI blanks out and I have to wait up to 4 seconds, then the snapshot is ready for saving/sending. I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't any other problems. (=_=)y

I have noticed this as well. Does not always do it, it's sort of intermitent.

Alecia, when you hit the snapshot button, the little window that pops up has some different options you can set. One of Torley Linden's video turorials had a lot of tips about using these. The preview window will show what you are about to take a picture of and if you see the chat window or bottom bar in the picture, just hit refresh until you get a clean shot. then save the picture from there.

It's a bug in 1.20.9:

Ok Thanks...

Another question..Why when saving pictures the only option is BMP and not JPG? Is there a way of changing that?

Alas not. I convert mine into jpg when I've finished arseing around in Photoshop or whatever, and dump the bmp files, which, with the resolution I use, are approx 20Mb each. They chew up space.

You can get JPEG2000 with Advanced->Compress Snapshot to Disk. A lot of programs don't know how to handle the j2c files this produces, so try it first with a snapshot you don't care about.

Like the man in orthopaedic shoes, I stand corrected.

You could also send your snapshots to Flickr and/or Snapzilla then download if you need a shot or just admire them on the web.
