Hi all

Can someone tell me is it's possible to change your name in SL and if so, how.

Thanks,
Jack.

Sorry Jack no. Once you have chosen a name it's yours- unless there was a reason like it was offensive or such in which case the Lindens would do it or ban you- depending on the circumstances.

If you have got absolutely have another name- then create a new avi.

They really need to put bigger letters on the signup page where it says that Your name can't be changed, so pick a good one.

I like your name. Why don't you? That 1967 sounds like a significant date. Is it? If so, then it's a good conversation starter.

Just my 2 cents.

PS. I'm not really that fond of my name either. I just don't want to have to start all over, so I will live with it.

you can just "create another account" with a name you're happier with.

But you won't be able to move any "no transfer" items you own. You can transfer everything else though, even your money. And since you've only been in SL for a month or two, it should be fairly painless to start over.

Check out this webpage, for a list of currently available last names.

your name is kind of neat i think =)

working in the clubs i got to see alot of names come and go..
me and a friend used to look at names when we were bored and count how many people later in their sl would regret the choice they made..
you could tell who joined just to check out sl and see what it was like by the funny names they chose that were ment to either gross people out or make them laugh..
that or the ones you knew were made just for a certain business in sl.
but alot of names were very creative and neat also..
i loved the ones that made a phrase..

i also loved that LL puts in certain last names that are ment for phrases.
the things we do when we are bored hehehehe

Maybe, just maybe, if they made the letters really large and made them flash in a variety of colors, people would notice it and actually read it and actually comprehend it.......

but I doubt it.
