They used to be--but I'm not sure they do anything anymore.

Just a lil bit of SL days long gone.

I think they preceded the traffic system.

for a while people still voted, even after they stopped doing anything.

And I got an email from Ratepoint this week--they have ended their SL services. So we have no rating system at all now. I have to say though--I stopped using RP because the hud was so intrusive. But it was a good tool when you needed it.

it`s stupid, i click on any i see just for fun

1. drive up some pritty useless stats
2. place sucks so deserves a higher rating for the owner go "my place is empty but cool!"
3. it`s clickable
4. bored enough as it is so a good 5 second giggle knowing why i click it

Most of those voting boxes are functional, but are now scripted to send their data to slpopularplaces.com
