Greetings.
I notice my Sim IP changes when I reboot. Do I remain on the same hardware (server) following each reboot, or is my Sim schematics (layout, objects... etc) downloaded onto a new (read: existing) server?

Sims are always on the same server until they change your sim to a different one. They have static IP's as well I believe. They recently brought about 2000 sims down to assign different IP addresses though

sims can change server at random on restarts every server has it`s own dedicated ip (as far as i`ve seen) and hosts up to 4 normal sims u can keep track of it by going to the help->about SL From: someone You are at 191347.7, 293880.9, 29.0 in Thistledown located at sim3245.agni.lindenlab.com (64.129.45.10:13004)
oh and when sl is having problems when they screw around, u can see if they did something major: Second Life 1.18.4 (3) Nov 7 2007 11:13:48 (Second Life Release) Second Life Server 1.18.5.73200

SIMS may come back up on a different server resulting in a different IP address, but always one of the same class server.

Sue got it right. Anytime a sim restarts, it can be brought up on a different piece of hardware. The IP is associated with the hardware, not the sim.
