I want to allow more than one avatar to set home to a parcel of land that I own. I am not sure if it is relevant, but the land is on a private island. It was suggested that I create a group, add the avatars to the group, associate the goup with the land, and then deed the land to the group.
When I press the button in the last step, to deed the land to the group, I get a warning saying that the group must have and maintain sufficient "land use credits". So I have the following questions:
1. What are land use credits?
2. How do I know how many the group has?
3. Will a group have any land use credits by default?
4. How do I know how many land use credits are required?
5. Where do I acquire them if I need them?
6. How much do they cost?

It is relevant that it is on a private island. In this case you can ignore the warning as land use credits are only meaningful for mainland sims. The part of the code that puts up this warning isn't smart enough to distinguish between private island and mainland donations (though the part that actually does the rest is.... go figure)
You can ignore the following for Private Island land, but for reference:
1) Land use credits are for tier that you pay Linden Labs for mainland
2) On the "Land an L$" tab of group info, center of the page
3) No
4) There is a 10% bonus for deeding land to a group, so multiply the area of the land you are deeding by 0.91 and that is the number of credits required
5) Your tier level will automatically be bumped up (you will get a warning if it needs to be increased, if you have previously been at that level and not manually reset your tier level I am not sure you will get a warning)
6) Use the "Land Use Fees" part of the "My Account" part of the SL website
