I have a homestead that is group owned, just my partner and i live there.
I had a player i bought on my previous island and it worked ok there
When i moved to this island i tried it and it would nt work,it said i was nt the owner of the island,i would have to deed it to the group,i tried but it did nt work so i never bothered again,
I watched torleys video how to make a player and it works fine, for me that is.
I streamed a youtube video with no problem.
The problem i'm having is my partner can't see it,she has all the options ticked in audio and video in preferences for streaming media and has the latest version of quicktime but she just can't view anything.\Is there something i am missing?
I went in with my alt and i could see the movie ok

I'm not positive, but I think you need to have 'share with group' checked, have the item actually set to a group, and be wearing the right group tag (that has the proper 'change parcel media' permissions) when you rez the item. I don't mess with group perms that much.

To set the parcel media or audio stream on group-owned land, the thing containing the script that does the actual setting must be deeded to group, doesn't matter what script is used. Some media players come in separate parts where only one of the parts needs to be deeded. (This whole deeding business only applies to group-owned land, as in this case.)

But that doesn't explain why the friend can't see the video that nikita is seeing. There are a bunch of possible causes for that, so it would help to know a bit more:

Can the friend see video on other parcels, just not this one?
Have you tried using other video streams (non-YouTube)?
Does the media player change the parcel-wide Media URL, as shown in About Land / Media?

She can hear the parcel audio ok,i did try deeding the media player to the group and checked share with group but that did nt change anything.
As for the media player it is one i created as per torley's video, just a basic cube stretched and the library default media texture used.
I guess the first thing we need to do is see if she can get streaming video on another parcel, that would tell us if the problem is on her end or our parcel.
Does anyone have a slurl to a parcel that plays streaming video
