Hello there!
Recently I saw an avatar with the symbol of the Eye-on-hand as group tag, over the avatar name. (As we can put a heart, start or other ASCII symbol) I was wondering how they can type it. It's not an ASCII code symbol, so I'm guessing it should be some kind of asiatic symbol. I should had asked her!
Anyone knows? Thank you for your help!

It's probably a particle effect. I have a toy called XTreme Tagger (or something) that will put a particle image over a person's head and it sounds like that's what you're seeing.

my impression is that they've switched over to unicode now.. so there's HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS more... hard to tell which one it might be. I'm sure they've replaced something trite like the happyface or a swastika or something, with their own corporate logo.
What's the old "Apple/Windows" logo again?

LL doesn't supply a unicode font as far as I know, it has to be present already. If there's a unicode font (one in particular I think even) the viewer uses it, if there isn't, you just see a little square.

I'd be willing to bet that LL has hardcoded a symbol into their client code, that if a certain unicode symbol (or combination) is used, it replaces that given symbol with thier logo. (perhaps ONLY in group titles/group names)

SL does bundle a few fonts, two weights of FF Meta for the interface and ProFont for the editor. Poking through with an editor I'm not really finding any custom stuff though, and I don't think Unicode has a hamsa symbol (but there are some other hands in there).

I knew that at one time but it sliped my mind. ☝☞☜☟☠☢☤☮☯☺Ⓟⓝ❷➆ Using the Character Map in Windoze (Start>Programs>Acessories>System Tools>Character Map) load up the Arial Unicode font. The Unicode format can have millions of symbols, but so far only the first 65,536 have been assigned code points by the ISO. Happy hunting.

Anyone knows? Thank you for your help! Leeloo.... really you should have asked her what group she was in that was giving that title. She probably wouldn't know which character was doing it.. but the group owner probably would have.
