query on group tier

My partner and I have formed an invitation-only group and I am going to deed a sizeable percentage of my tier to it. However, before I do so, a couple of questions:
1. Is the group tier bonus thing for real?
2. If for any reason I leave the group, how do I go about getting my tier back?

The bonus is very real. Whatever tier is donated to the group, the group will be able to own 110% of that area.

To retrieve tier from a group, you just remove it in your view of the Group's "Land and L$" tab. If the group has enough tier contributed by others to cover its land holdings, no problem; if not, the group should sell some land.

To recover *land* that was deeded to group, one of the group Owners (or other Role with the correct Ability) should sell the land back to the original owner for L$0 (so that there aren't proceeds from the sale which might get distributed inappropriately among the group members, depending on whether their Roles include sharing in group liabilities and income).

alyx, please be careful with your new group. ensure you have looked at the permissions closely, particularly for the role 'everybody'. make sure group accounting is turned off and the ability to sell group deeded land/objects and so on is disabled.

eta: when the time comes to reclaim land, remove your tier before buying back the $0 land. if you dont you risk bumping yourself up to the next tier level for no good reason.
