Missing Inventory Question

I've read with sympathy about disappearing inventory but until yesterday it had never happened to me. I was building and "eyedroppering" one of the textures I've been using and nothing happened. Turns out it, along with several hundred other textures, clothing items and I dunno what else have disappeared from my inventory. No change this morning.

What are the chances that these items will return, or are they lost forever? Is there any point to filing a support ticket?

It's not the lindens I care about. Stuff can be replaced. But the *time* I spent shopping, which I hate, especially for the textures... Grrrr.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Well, one of the things we try is to clear the cache about six times, logging in each time. Sometimes they show up.. sometimes they don't.

I had a dance chim go missing for three months before it finally showed up in my inventory.. No amount of cache clearing fixed it, but one day, it reappeared just like it disappeared. By then, I'd already replaced it and the dances in it. Fortunately, it was all transferable, so I gave it to a friend.

Clear cache, log in to a low-lag sim (such as Cyclops), open your inventory and search until it loads. Don't do anything (IMing, change clothes, etc.) while it loads. Repeat until all items return or you run out of patience.

File a ticket. Some residents have reported that after doing so a Linden repaired the corrupted inventory and all their items were returned.

I'll give these ideas a shot when I get home tonight and let you know how it turns out.

Thank you!

Yep, cleared cache only once and recovered everything.

You would think I'd know to try this first. I'm so embarassed.

Thanks again!
