No Sound at All With Emerald/Windows 7? Help!

I'm running a brand new Dell XPS with Windows 7 and am receiving absolutely no sound whatsoever with Windows 7 when running Emerald Viewer 1.23.5.1101 (latest release). I've uninstalled/reinstalled, updated drivers, checked to make sure audio settings are correct/turned up and no love. I have no issues with the regular SL viewer or Rainbow Viewer... this only happens with Emerald. Has anyone else had this issue and if so what is the fix?

Just a shot in the dark, but will it work in Vista Compatibility mode?

Thanks for your suggestion, veritable.. I've tried this and still have no sound at all in Emerald.. and now Rainbow or the main Second Life viewer either, although I didn't change anything. So confusing.
