traffic on land change

How often does the traffic rate for a parcel of land change? I notice after a sim restart numbers go down.

and yes I have tried searching the forums but get nonsense results or blank pages, also I checked wiki which seems to have been written in 2006 and doesnt mention what I ask.

Twice a day, around 3am and 3pm SL time, in theory. Sometimes glitches prevent it being updated on schedule.

ahh, ok thanks for your answer. I have a lady who rents land from me, she has a busy club. everyday she has an event lots of people come.... she built the traffic up without BOTS and was going for a higher placement in search results.
She has live shows as well as DJ events and its just a nice place to hang, any way she was a bit upset and asked me why their traffic kept going down and I really didnt have a solid answer for her.

I do know she was quite high in traffic rating and its down by half today from friday. We lost the sim saturday for 2 hours so I assumed it was on account of that.

But it seems to me that people working hard to establish good traffic without tricking the system or using bots to increase are getting a raw deal...


What if anything can I suggest to her?

Traffic is calculated as "avatar-minutes per day over the last 24 hours". In other words, one avatar present for 1 minute = 1 point of traffic score. So in order to maintain a consistently high traffic score, she would need to have the same number of people show up for events for the same length of time every day, which is not likely.

Note that traffic only counts directly for the places search. Search/all counts several things, only a small part of which is traffic.
