Ok... here goes
First, I wanted to buy some lindens, so the account pages told me I needed payment info... So I put in my credit card info.... Then I put some money onto my account since it kept telling me I had no money to buy lindens with.... but now the system is telling me that I have to wait 30 days to be able to use my account's credit?
I can understand not allowing the transfer of too much money to an account, but is it normal for it to not register that there will be no billing when buying lindens since the account has credit?

The thirty days rolling limit applies to "business owners." You, as a new resident, will have a 24 hour rolling limit, not 30 days. Here's an explanation of billing limits: https://secure-web7.secondlife.com/currency/describe-limits.php

Right, that's why I went to try and buy the lindes, excpet on the buying page it tells me the following.... Your Remaining LindeX Trading Limits per 24 hours per 30 days Buy US$10.00 US$10.00 Sell US$0.00 US$0.00 Your Remaining Account Billing Limits per 24 hours per 30 days Purchase US$0.00 US$0.00
And when I try to confirm my purchase it gives me this error.... We are unable to complete your request. • This transaction would exceed your monthly billing limit by US$9.7. You have already billed US$25.00 of your monthly billing limit is US$25.00. • Couldn't reserve order. • The system encountered an error while processing your order, please try again.
So we're still stuck with the question of what I'm able to do with my $25 credit (the minimum credit that can be added), since it has been over 24 hours since I added the credit.
It clearly states that I do have the credit in my account, the system just doesn't seem to recognize it as usable funds for the lindenexchange (even though the money has been taken from my checking account).

Ah, you increased your credit...that's unnecessary and seems to confuse the system when done as an avatar's first transaction. You should have gone directly to the Linden Dollar Exchange link. Your limits will increase in about 48 hours, at which point you will be able to use that $25 to buy L$, but you're somewhat stuck until then. You could sign up for an account on www.xStreetSL.com in the meantime...they use LL's Risk API, so it's pretty safe.

meh, a shame i can't go back and get a copy of the message it was giving me before I added the credit. See, I tried just that, buying linden before adding credit, and it kept telling me I had no available credit (even though I had allready added my card info)
They REALLY REALLY REALLY need to get this place better organized and explained more clearly.
That Xstreet SL, what is it exactly?

LL really needs to better document all of this as it confuses new folks all the time.

Xstreet SL is a legitimate site for buying SL goods and for doing L$ buy/sell transactions. http://www.xstreetsl.com/

Hmmm, peculiar...I haven't heard of that issue before. It should just bill directly to your payment method when you make a L$ purchase.

Sadly this is a the way it is, LL knows about the issue yet has never fixed it. The way it works is: if you have credit to cover the buy order then it will not count against your limit. However you must have enough left in your limit to place the buy order. Basicly it checks to see if you have enough left in your limit before it checks if you have credit to cover it.

I never had problems with buying Linden Dollars. I use a paypal subscription. Last time I bought Lindens I had one transaction of 20.000 Lindens at once. Worked fine, instant and was spend faster than I got it

I've never had a credit balance on my account when purchasing L$ from the LindeX. I generally use PayPal, but I had a credit card on the account instead at one point and both worked.
I do have a vague - and perhaps inaccurate - recollection of someone saying that Limit Buys may require a credit balance...I always do Market Buys, so I wouldn't know about that.
