Setting home position for tennants

Hi
I have several renters on my sim, but they can not set their home position at their home. The system tells them they can't becasue they're not the owner (Or similar message)

Their rental is on a parcel which I have subdivided off the main sim.

I was thinking of buying an expensive teleport system that will link with my rental box but wonder if there is another way.

Any ideas?
Thanks

As far as I know, the tenants must be members of a group with their role ability to set home turned on. Not sure of the land needs to be deeded to the group or if just setting the land group will work.

The land had to be deeded to the group in the past, but it's possible that's changed.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

The easiest way is to start a group for tenants only. Then set the ownership of the land to the group. That way everybody in the group will have ownership rights. This won't affect individual objects rezzed by you (like houses) because they will still be owned by the person who rezzed them. Also, make sure to uncheck Edit Terrain on the Land Options tab.

This way, too, if you want to restrict access to the parcels (which I don't necessarily recommend, but you can do it...), you can just set it to Allow Group Access. Then only members of the group (or residents that they authorize by adding names to the Allowed Residents list) can enter.

EDIT: Cross-post

You definitely need a group, with the tenants in that group and a group role that allows setting home on group land. For quite a while, the land HAD to be DEEDED to the group. I had a JIRA ticket in on that, stating that setting the land to group, as opposed to deeding it, should be sufficent, and used to work. It was recenly closed with an indication that it was now possible, with the latest client, to set home on land that was only SET to the group, as long as the tenant was in the group and had the set home role permission.

I have not verified this yet. I don't currently own a parcel I can test it on.

- Right Click on your land - click About Land - In the Group Section, set the group to one you created

- On the client menu, select Edit - Groups, than highlight your group - Press Info - Select the Roles Tab

- Highlight the Everyone Role Name - Under Allowed Abilities, Look Under Parcel Powers and Check Allow "set home to here" on group land, than Click Apply.
-- Your residents need to activate their group tags to set home

- If that doesn't work, you'll have to deed the land to the group (on about land, check deed to group and owner makes contribution with deed boxes, than click deed). Once that's done, your residents will definitely be able to change home TP plus you can give them additional ownership abilities like changing media settings and so forth using the roles tab as noted above. If you want, you can undeed the land (sell the land back to yourself), and your residents home TP will stay even if the land is no longer group.

If it's estate and you're the estate owner just sell them the plot.

That is, in fact, how most Private Sim leases work. The sim owner sells the tenant the parcel, which allows them to deed that parcel to their own land control group. So the tenant can control access for who does what on their parcel, and can allow their Partner and other friends to set home there. The sim owner can always reclaim the parcel if there are issues.
