I see the SL balance and it looks as though one can bring Lindens out to pay for tier.
I can really use something like this as I have had (starts violin playing) mega medical expenses the past month AND bought 2048 of land, and I wont be solvent until Monday. I *think* I am billed over the weekend. I could stand to bring out 4k against this which would work with what I have in the bank.
How does this work? Is there a surcharge which compromises the exchange rate? Does it take several days or is it instantaneous as buying Lindens? Is this inadvisable? Advisable for "small" amounts?

Heya Holocluck, you sure can - basically you can sell $L on the LindeX and that will convert to USD credit. Right now, $L offered for sale at 265/USD goes pretty fast; within a day easy. Make sure your LindeX market settings are on 'advanced' because the instant $L options will take a bigger bite out of you - you can do that if you are in a big hurry, but I'd advise against. Go here for settings: https://secure-web2.secondlife.com/account/currency_settings.php?lang=en Then here for the exchange: https://secure-web2.secondlife.com/currency/?lang=en Edit: and yes there is something like 3.5% that goes to the Company, plus, a 30 cent fee for any LindeX transaction - so don't just try to sell off a dollar's worth, it's not 'worth it'. Fees descriptions: https://secure-web2.secondlife.com/currency/describe-transaction-fees.php
