My friend who shares land with me, rezzed something called a Mist Maker on our land. The thing started giving out particles (mist) and we cannot find the prim to delete it. In fact, there doesn't seem to be a prim - I counted all the prims on the land, and they add up to the total prim count. I suspect (I don't know whether I'm right) that the script itself got embedded in the land.
Does anybody know how we could get it out? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

open editor window, go to 'tools' at the top of the viewer select 'select my objects only' click on the land area around were the script was placed and drag the yellow box over the area. you can also go to view and select 'show transparent objects' sometimes helps, but sometimes the mist shows as transparent too.
if you still can't see the object maybe the script as accidentally been put into a object, so you would have to right click your objects in the area and find which one it is in and dlete it, however, on the same object you would need to add a 'scrubber' to delete the actual particles.

actually if it's your friends, he would have to do the 'select my objects only' suggestion.

You could also try viewing beacons (CTRL + N) and then View > Beacons > Particle Sources. It might also help to remove the surface patch that covers the land (CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + 5).

Thank you, Dekka and Skell!
View -> beacon -> scripted objects turned up a box which is emitting the smoke particles... but the box is transparent and cannot be selected. It is not a prim. (I have accounted for all the prims on the parcel)
Since my friend cannot select it, she can't delete it. How can we get rid of it? Dekka, you mentioned a scrubber - where can I get one, and would it help in this case? Thank you so much!
EDIT: My friend highlighted transparent objects and was able to select it and delete it! Yay! Thank you so much, both of you - I really appreciate it!

It is a prim.
Turn on view transparent with CTRL+ALT+T. It should then be possible to select the object.

From: Lindal Kidd It is a prim.. Yepyep. A script MUST be in a prim - they can't exist in-world outside of a prim.

Thanks everyone for all the help! We've managed to get rid of it. My friend swears never to rez unknown stuff on the land again (it was a random freebie she picked up from somewhere lol)
