When selling land the dollar sign on the map that shows the price only shows on some land some of the time. I have contacted Lindens about this multiple times but only ever get vague responses such as "It will proabably update in a day or so" but then it never does.
I know that when I purchase land I dont even bother tping to land which I cant check the price first on the map so other people would also do this. Call me paranoid but I think its a conspiracy by Lindens to keep land sales down. This would lead to more people abandoning their land and Lindens would then retrieve it. I cant see any other reason for why such a tiny problem hasnt been fixed in over a year.

It's more than land sales, the whole mapping system is in a chronic state of brokenness. Events run behind and show incompletely too, and classifieds are missing. The object and terrain layers themselves fall days or more behind, and maps at less than the highest zoom level on slurl.com are months out of date.

I agree it will show up or not ,it's all borked .I have to tp to check things out ,but takes a long time .I don,t think it's a trick just the usual ....THINGS NOT WORKING kind of stuff

Well to be honest I have been gradually becoming less tolerant of the downsides and boringness of it all. As a result I am selling my land and downsizing, spending way less time in sl. Ive cut my use by about 95% in the last 6 weeks. I most probably will sell up completely and get out soon, that is if anybody buys the land back off me!
Ive heard people on radio and TV talking up SL saying things like its the way of the future blah blah etc etc. They are usually people who have only just discovered it and so are unaware of many limitations and cumbersomeness of it. The lag thing is the worst part as this prevents people from being able to socialise in an unencumbered way. Its ironic really because for many socialising is the main reason for playing sl in the first place.
Youd think that Lindens would take these problems seriously but they dont seem to fix much at all. Its just the same problems again and again. Same shit different day.
