UK keyboard problem

From time to time, perhaps once a day, my (UK) keyboard seems to switch layout or something, such that the " and @ keys are transposed. It stays like that (in SL only) until I reload the client, and it's annoying. It's been like that in all releases for months, up to the latest RC.
Any ideas?

Maybe you have a keyboard shortcut set to switch the input menu? A shortcut you also use in SL? I have a Mac, so I can't help with anything windoz...

I don't have anything set, but it's entirely possible I'm hitting a key combo by mistake. It's just without knowing what I've pressed, it's hard to know what to press to get it back to normal again.
I can't find anything on the menus/options in the release or RC version that reflects what I suspect it may be - a change in keyboard language for SL only (when it happens, it doesn't affect other things on the same PC). The OS, incidentally, is WinXP.

I found an old thread, /111/80/129899/1.htmlSomething about a "camera movement combo" in SL that actually switches keyboard language on multi-language Win XP. So I think you'll need to find how to switch that key-combo off on your OX since you don't need it anyway. If you don't know how, try posting in the Technical Issues Forum here, (if no one else chimes in...) /111/1.html

OK, maybe I'm not making this plain enough: like the OP in that linked thread saw, this issue *only affects SL*. So, for example, if I'm using SL, and I switch to another application, such as a word processor, the problem isn't there; if I then switch back to SL, it is there. So it's not the Windows keyboard language settings, which would change all applications; it's a setting that's only in SL.
I'll leave this thread here for a day or so to see if anyone else has had the problem, then, as Isabeau suggests, I'll take it to the Technical Issues forum. Many thanks.

To switch between keyboard layouts, on XP, you can use CTRL+SHIFT Left ALT+SHIFT CTRL+SHIFT+number all easy to hit when using keyboard camera controls or menu shortcuts in SL
Go to Control Panel, Regional and Language Options Choose Languages Tab Press Details... button You should see that you have English (United Kingdom) and English (United States) installed (and maybe some others) Press Key Settings... button
Ensure all Key seqences are set to (None) (Change Key Sequence, uncheck "Switch Keyboard Layouts" or uncheck "Enable Key Sequence" if they are not)
NOTE: the keyboard shortcuts only change the layout for the current window, not the whole PC, so this cause is consistent with your "*only affects SL*"

Many thanks, Gellan - that looks like it. I've deleted the US keyboard entry.
What fooled me was that the keyboard layout changes as you switch between apps, which made me think is was an app-level issue.
