I just added 1 gig of memory to my Dell Dimension 2400 and I am still having problems seeing other avs unless they are right next to me. My chipset in my computer is an i845 so I know that is too low. Do I need to buy a graphics card? What should I buy? I want to stay in SL but I cannot buy a new computer. So how can I make my computer work for SL please?

From what I'm seeing your Dimension has only PCI slots - no PCI or AGP. That's bad so far as improving the video goes, it limits your choice a good bit. There are still some PCI video cards though. I'm reluctant to offer suggestions but maybe a VisionTek 900106 Radeon X1300 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Low Profile Video Card - Retail at http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380048+1069609642+1305520549&name=ATI would do. The general idea would be to look at the list of recommended cards at secondlife.com/corporate/sysreqs.php for your operating system and computer type and find one that uses the older PCI video bus. You might find one on eBay, or a discount site like newegg or tigerdirect.
