I know it's probably not one of the most pressing problems facing LL, but there has been a 2-sim wide strip of land missing from the top centre of the Southern Continent since the rest of it was completed many months ago. I live on the Southern Continent, though not close to the missing bit. But it would be nice to see it all there.

Considering the lack of demand for new land as exemplified by the mostly nonexistent new regions going up for auction, I'd say holding your breath for this to happen would be a bad idea.

Think of it as a nice fjord.

I have been wondering about that too. I thought it was odd that they stopped there, with the unfinished look, then started creating a new contiment out east. Now they have done 3 new landmasses, but if you go around the old ares you see a number of places that look unfinished like that, but not as obvious at that area.

Look at it this way - It takes millions of years for the forces of nature to create a new continent. LL has created several of them in a few short years. This means that LL is more powerful than all the forces of nature combined!!! They should have the Southern Continent complete as soon as they get the tectonic plates to shift properly, volcanoes to explode and glaciers to till the new land into shape. They might also need to get the oceans to receed a little, but that's just a minor detail. Give them...oh...say...how about a week?

*shrugs* Given that the land sales have kind of slumped on the new sims, I'd not be surprised to see that they're not working on the land masses again. Also, they may be waiting on the rolling out Havok 4 before they turn back to being all godly and some such.

Not to be a negative Nellie, but every road I've seen in SL quickly went on my list of places I would never visit again. Are there nice ones around, worth working on? Or is the concept just a once-beautiful dream permanently ruined by ad-cutters?

im talking a proper linden road or railroad.
i think that ads have made being near a road more of a liability than anything, yes. but i believe if there is an actual road there it adds some bit of perspective to the ads. at the very least they dont look like they are just sitting in someones yard.

@Meade #10: Yes! We intend to finish off that southern continent soon. Apologies that it wasn’t completed fully before.

I live on a heretofore beautiful sim with the unfortunate name of Slyme...well actually the property extends into the next and when I tp people I make sure I am on the nicely named side! Anyway, yesterday I discovered a road near my property in Slyme..Interesting , I thought...then I walked it. OMG- there are skanky prostitutes and homeless people living in garbage cans - there is graffiti on the walls - this is not what I want to see when I look out over the gardens. We have a lovely space we work very hard to beautify and turn to our version of Paradise - realize that SL is the embodiment of everyone's fantasies - not just mine and my partner - but geez - why would that be something any one wants? Even the graveyard nearby is far more tasteful and art like than that!

So if that is what the roads bring- let them pass me by.

And that was almost two months ago that he said it would be done "soon". :(

Amaranthim,

I don't think I could resist a teleport offer that said, "Please join me in Slyme."

Actually LL doesn't build the land masses. They just have explorers go out there and find them. The land has always been there, we just can't use it until LL goes and verifies that it is still there. The way you talk, you would think that the Lindens created the universe.

Yep.. :(

I think the mainland market dried up a bit sooner than they hope/expected. I'd bet the plan is to wait for it to pick up a little then finish off the new continents then finish off the old southern one.

After that, I hope they fill the gaps between continents - it'd be really cool to be able to explore from one end of the grid to the other without having to TP at all.

/me blinks, then furrows his brow and thinks really really hard....
