I just started SL a few days ago and decided to buy some Lidens. For some reason which was not explained to me I was only allowed to buy $10 worth. I bought some things with that money and needed to buy more. Now when I try to buy $10 worth I am told that that's $9.70 over my daily allowance or something. Could someone please help??

https://secure-web3.secondlife.com/currency/describe-limits.phpWithin the first few days of SL your buying and selling "limit" of lindens is very small ~ There's nothing you can really do about it.. i've heard you can contact LL and ask them to increase your buying limit, but i don't know if they do this during the first few days, or not... You can also buy lindens from a varified third party site like slexchange.com (to get around the limit LL imposes). Otherwise you can just wait a few days, ^_^

The limits are shown here: http://www.secondlife.com/currency/describe-limits.phpThey are not daily limits, as in $10/day, but monthly. However, the 'monthly' limit increases several times in that first 28 days. The $10 limit exists for the first 48 hours (the day you make your first purchase is considered day 0), then increases to $100 on the third day. However, since you already used $10 of that limit, you'll actually only have $90 total still available until it increases again on the 9th day...it says day 8 on the chart, but remember that the 'day 0' convention adds a day. If you spend that additional $90 by the time the limit increases again, you'll have $200, not $300, total available until the final increase to $2500/month on the 29th day.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

yup, I had the same problem during my first few days, had my credit card set up, but was unable to buy $L. Give it a little time, it will work.

If you don't like the "patience, Grasshopper" route... Set up an account at http://www.slexchange.com, and also be sure you have a verified PayPal account...preferably a business account. You can use PayPal's "Mass Pay" feature to transfer money to SL Exchange for a charge of only $1.00. You can then buy L$ on SL Exchange's currency exchange, and send the funds to your avatar in world, either from the SL Exchange website or by accessing an SL Exchange ATM terminal within Second Life.

Just a word of caution.
Wait the required time for them to increase your limits. Don't buy from any place on the web except the official secondlife.com website or slexchange.com (both of those are safe)
Never buy lindens from ebay.
