How To Auction Land?

I want to auction my land off, but I'm not sure how to. Any help with this would be helpful.

The ability for residents to auction land does not exist. The Lindens have talked about providing this function but still in the "planning" stage as far as I know.

All you can do is set it for sale at this time.

Just an idea, but could you set the land for sale at a high price, place a sign that says the land is being auctioned off, have the link set to go to an ebay page? After the auction is won, you can set the land at the price of the winning bid to the avatar in game?

Its not a transaction that would be taking place outside of the game, just the deal. You conclude the deal within the game to make it legitimate.

Or hold a more realistic in-world auction with an auctioneer and people saying their bids. You'd probably want to let people know there's a reserve price. That would be fun to attend. :)

And, in the meantime, someone comes along and, perhaps foolishly, pays the high price. So much for your E-bay auction.

The land would have to have something special about it to garner enough attention for multiple auction bids. I would just set it to the price you want and IM all your sim neighbors and see if anyone is interested.

FYI, mainland prices are dropping right now.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm just going to accept offers from others.

The land is 512 Sq Meters and is only one house away from the ocean. The land is elevated from that house and you can see see the ocean clearly.
