I'm trying to access the Face Animations so that I can open the mouth with an attatchement I.E. A tounge. I Have one, but it just attaches to the mouth and doesn't open it. I've seen face emoters, but I don't see any animation files when I try to edit them. Is there a place where I can get free Face Animations?

The face animations are built into SL and emote scripts just call them by name - there aren't any actual animations you can have in an object or in your inventory, and nobody can make new ones.

Here's a list of all the built-in animations, including the default walks and sits and such and all the facial emotes: http://www.lslwiki.net/lslwiki/wakka.php?wakka=animation

Get the free version of the MystiTool. It has several face animations (emoters) built into it.

You can make an "open mouth" gesture with the stock gestures and set it to a F key.

Good morning Anti!
I notice from that list there are many with an alternative 'emote' suffix. Though a year old in-world I've barely even started looking deeper into the mechanics of SL. I'm a little curious as to how the emote version varies from it's sibling?

The emotes are the facial gestures; the siblings animate the body, too.

By the way, it's also possible to combine the facial gestures so more than one play at the same time. Usually the result is even weirder than the individual gestures (unhinged jaws, etc), but I've stumbled on a few combos that seem workable.

I'd also be real interested in any tips about getting the hand gestures to work, standalone. As I recall, there are three hand settings, something like "relaxed", "spread", and "fist" that you get to select when you upload an animation. From my little experiments, it seems that you can't upload an animation that sets no joints at all, which would be ideal to then just add the hand gestures. I've tried it with a tiny off-default wrist rotation, and it seems to kinda work, but there must be a better way.

This is one of the things I use the Mysti for most, so I smile an stuff in piccies. It does both an open mouth (used it recently to "sing";) and a tongue stuck out.

Incidentally, a tongue piercing that is an attachment will never look like it is actually on your tongue. It stays in a fixed position there inside your mouth. When you stick your tongue out, it stays inside your mouth.

More realistic tongue-piercings are part of the skin itself.

EDIT: Nevermind, I misread the OP. :)
