Good typing anim?

Hi everyone, I am asking for your help again.

Does anyone has a nice typing animation replacement to insert in my AO? I've seen a talking anim at some point, but I'd be curious to compare it with others.

I'm not sure whether it's exactly what you're after or not, but I've got a couple of typing replacers in my store that might do the trick. One's cybergeek-themed - it's a gadget you wear on your arm, and when you type on its little built-in keyboard a "holo-screen" pops up with scrolling text on; and the other's fantasy-themed, where instead of typing you adopt a "spell-casting" pose, a glowing rotating "spell disc" appears around you and a ring of particles rise up from it around you while you type. (that one's colour-changing by command).

Neither of those are stand-alone anims that get inserted in AOs as such, but they serve the same purpose and come with the "special effects" I describe. If they sound at all interesting to you, the location of my store can be found in my sig.

I've also seen an interesting typer where one waves a conductor's baton while typing and particle "notes" float out the end. I don't know who makes it (sorry!) but I understand that it's located in one of the Caledon sims (Desmond, any clue?) and according to the friend who had that one, the maker also sells other similarly appealing typers.

*thinks* Oh yes, one other good typer I can think of.... it's a freebie if I recall correctly, available at Grendel's Children in Avaria Tor. When you start typing, a big ornamented book appears in one hand, and you write in it with a quill that appears in your other hand.

Hopefully there's something you can use in that pile of ideas. Good luck, and if you find any others around that strike your fancy, do tell us about it. I'm always interested in hearing about clever and interesting gadgets, and good typing replacers can be hard to find!

I checked out Grendel's, but had a hard time navigating. Do you remember where their freebie area is located?

Grendels can be a bit of a hard place to find stuff in, yes. It helps that there are big signs up labelling the sections, and near the entrance (and scattered around elsewhere) mini-models of the store with "you are here" signs on. Look for those if you get confused again. They're quite helpful.

If I recall correctly, I think the freebie section is along the wall to your left as you enter the store from the TP point. If the typer isn't there, the other place to look is the Misc section, which is a floor or so up, but I forget exactly where. If you can't find it and the mini-model "maps" don't help, try asking around when you're there. Good luck!
