Continuing in the vein of exploring the impact of RL IP law and how it relates to SL, I'm interested in finding out the following:

1. How many nightclub owners have secured licensing from ASCAP/BMI to play copyright protected music in their venues?

2. How many DJ's in SL have secured licensing from ASCAP/BMI for streaming their copyright protected music they use in gigs?

New licensing structures greatly culled the number of internet radio stations from the scene. But, did you stop for a moment to think that when a DJ spins up a gig, he or she is effectively creating an internet radio station with his stream?

Revisions to the law make it illegal in RL for a business owner to even play his radio in his place of business without a license from ASCAP/BMI. In RL, nightclub owners, and other venue providers typically cover the licensing costs for the music performed in their clubs or dance halls. But, since the DJ himself is responsible for creating the musical streamcast, is he also responsible for securing the same licensing as any other internet radio 'caster?
