I searched and could not find an answer.
I heard there is a way to give other people custom skies you've made. If this is possible, how is it done?

The windlight presets are in the SecondLife folder - application settingfs - windlight. They are .xml but you can also give them as text and have the receiver change the file to xml I think.
I've never tried giving anyone one of my skies in game, but maybe it would work on a n/c if the file got made into an xml and dropped in the right folder (not while they are logged in I think though).

I dropped a custom sky preset into my folder, but it doesn't show up in the list in the Advanced Sky editor, even after a relog. What am I doing wrong?

Well, assuming it's in the right folder (like skies for a sky) and it's an xml file, then I don't know I've installed lots and had no problem. Maybe open the file and have a look. I'm definitely not too helpful today!
