Has anyone ever heard of this and if so what have you heard? I'm not sure if it's ok to post the link so I will wait until someone who knows the rules better says something LOL
I have heard that this will eventually be linked to SL's grid.

/me is going to link the WP Coke machine to the grid.

Not a new concept, but it's *our* Coke machine.

I am asking because I have friends who have bought sims in side this particular grid and who are building thinking this is going to happen within the next couple months.

This grid, http://www.josef.org/scintillating.html , is worth looking at.

The website for the opensim giantgrid is not real impressive.

I have heard that this will eventually be linked to SL's grid.
I find its website very uninspiring and I can find nothing on it that suggests it's going to link to SL. I'd guess that it isn't true except that TPing between the various grids will eventually come in.

There will be a million of these soon. Sooner than the software will be complete. But they will grow with the software too. 2010 will be the year of grid revolution. IMO!
