I met some guy the other day that told me you could get an official second membership for $10.00. He said that all of the items in your first member/alt inventory would be available on either that you log in on. I have been trying to see if there is any truth to that becuase that would be a wonderfull Idea. Well I found on the second life site under membership plans something that says it an additional basic membership and it costs $9.95 but there is no button to push to purchase it. It says its a one time fee so its not one of the premium memberships. Does anybody know anything at all? I really want to know.

If you only have a small number of accounts, they are free.

The current LL policy (well it's a little muddy still, but this is what it is) :

He is probably just referring to an alt. The used to charge a one time fee of about $10 but they haven't done that in a long time.

The web site info is old. There is no charge for alts (additional accounts).

And as far as i know, you can not share inventory between them. Never have been able to. You can give things back and forth as long as they are transfer enabled but you can do that with anybody.

Based on these pictures, I'm giving you a 9.1 - which is a VERY strong start for your first submission (heh - I said "submission";). You are a slut, but in the most positive, sexy way. Congratulations and shame on you!

They reserve the right to charge the fee is you've built an army of alts, but they don't charge for having a few anymore. In any case, alts are considered a totally separate account and they can't access your main's inventory, or vice versa.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

*I met some guy the other day that told me you could get an official second membership for $10.00.

Nope. They used to charge $9.95 for every account after your first one that wasn't an even more expensive Premium account, but they no longer do so. All Basic accounts (anything not Premium) are free.

*He said that all of the items in your first member/alt inventory would be available on either that you log in on.

It has NEVER worked that way, ever. Dead wrong.

There are still some outdated website pages that say that fee is in efect. But it's impossible to pay it short of raising a support ticket with Linden Lab and demanding that they take money that they don't want to collect.

I think they have left that fee technically still "on the books" just so they can charge it to griefers and scammers who badly abuse multiple accounts. Likewise, there used to be a limit of 5 avatars per person, but that limit is long dead.

The info is out of date. It costs nothing to make another free basic account, but the inventory is not transferable (except for transferable items which you may pass across in just the same way you could pass them on to anyone else).

They updated the KB so it actually says something similar to this.
