Was checking out the police blotter, and saw 'Intolerance' as a reason for punishment.
What exactly counts as intolerance? It probably says in the ToS but I'm lazy atm...
Does me saying 'those damn furries' put me at risk of bannage? (I love furries btw)
Or would it have to be to the extent of something like griefing every furry I see just because they are furries?
Just curious really, I'm proud to say that I'm generally not prejudiced. (We all have our moments)
So yeah.. what's the deal?

Could be an 'SL condemner'. You know, the sort who comes into SL just to challenge us all and tell us we're pathetic. That would be intolerance.

People complaining that Mitch Kapor called residents "marginal and dispossessed." and vill be banned! Seriously "Intolerance," refers to racial slurs, ethnic slurs, gay bashing, etc.

@Rebecca, you're right, sexual/racial/religious discriminations are reasons for punishment... not only on SL but on every civilized country

Intolerance unfortunately is a vast grey area subject to bias and some inconsistencies no matter how careful you are.
A couple weeks back I had assembled a cube with the Hitler Rave script (basically a crude animation of Hitler dancing under a disco ball) in Sandbox Island and hadn't bothered to delete it. I later discovered a 1-day ban for "Intolerance". I could understand if I'd been assembling swastikas or if it was reported as an annoyance. But this script is making fun of Hitler, not supporting him. Only people I can imagine being offended are actual Nazis. I've asked many people and none of them found it offensive so I don't know what happened there. Fortunately I'd gotten settled into SL enough not to get (too) discouraged about the pettiness and just went on with things once the ban was over.
Now to address the OP, expressing personal opinions as opinions is free speech and protected (most of the time). Saying "I hate those damn furries" isn't going to result in a ban but isn't likely to win you many friends either. Phrasing it as "All those damn furries are [censored]" or something similar could certainly cause you problems; it becomes more a direct attack on a specific group than simply expressing your personal dislike.

Funny thing is, SL has taught me MORE about tolerance than anything. I love the Furry community! I'm not a Furry but they have every right to be as they wish. I'm not a fan of Gorean Society, but they have every right to do as they wish! (Just dont collar me, or we're gonna go a few rounds! ) As for other Normal-RL stuff- I'm tolerant of it as well. I dont care if you're black, white, asian, gay, straight, male, female, fat, thin, blond, brunette, old, young, N00b or Oldbie, PC or Mac. I might tease ya about it, but then again I like to kid about stuff. "Be Good To One Another"

Saying "Those damn Furries!" may get you ejected from a Furry area, but that sort of comment isn't a TOS violation for intolerance. For an example of TOS-bannable intolerance, please consult the following South Park clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xc3dwaxBTEU

I have not data to support this except my own limited observations. It seems to me that this punishment is most likely to happen when intolerance is expressed in a public area. For example, standing at Help Island Public saying saying how much you hate so-and-so and how they should all be banned from SL... on the police blotter, check the region. I'll bet that region contains a welcome area, a sandbox, a telehub, or a help area.
