We have an avatar that has been on our sim for over 2 weeks. Same spot, never moves. When I have IM'd the person, I usually get the message that user is offline. Today, I got a message from them saying they hadn't been to the sim in over 2 weeks. They have been all over sl.

I tried to eject the avatar hoping that it would make it go away but to no avail. Is there anything I can do to make this "ghost" go away?

Yeah, it's probably as ghost.

A sim restart will get rid of it but also, if the AV visits his/her own ghost, it will also dissapear.

SL might think he's in a different sim that the one he's visible in cause by a failed handoff to the new sim. An avatar scanner can verify which sim he's really in, and that sim needs to be restart.

I just want to pause and wonder what I would have thought a few years ago if you told me we would soon be casually discussing visiting our own ghosts.

Get the 2 of them together then make one touch the other and the space time paradox will solve the problem

I had this problem some time ago. I IM'd the resident who'd left her ghost. She said she'd been having all sorts of problems in SL. When I TP'd her to my garden, the ghost disappeared immediately.

Before you ask for a sim restart, dress the ghost up with prim clothing and take a picture to send to the player.

Didn't the entire grid just go through a rolling restart this week? And the ghost has been there for 2 weeks? That implies that a sim restart is not taking care of this particular ghost - odd.

Easiest might be to send the person a slurl to the location of their ghost and ask them to stop by when they have a chance.

Ghost is gone!!

I'm an Estate Manager so I was able to do a sim restart and that worked. It was just so odd. I've only been here a bit over a yr but I had never seen that before. lol

Same happened to me. I had a ghost in a sim I hadn't been to in weeks. The owner TP'd me in and the ghost disappeared. I'd say a sim restart shouldn't be necessary.
