I have a feeling this is a really stoopid question, but here goes:

I"m looking for the perfect house!! I've found several i like, but they have a second floor with no stairway, no hole in the 1st floor ceiling, and/or an unbroken railing around the 2nd floor! how do I get to that 2nd floor? I can build a stairway, but...

I know, i should just build my own house, and i will. when i have time :)

It should include a "teleport" pad that you sit on and *poof* up to the second floor. It's pretty common for those who want as much space as possible while also saving prims and have few concerns about realism. (^_^)

And I really do suggest you try building your own house... Mine's is in the shape of a cookie jar. It's more of a store than a house though. I spend most of my time in an underground bunker just below it. (^_^)y

Such houses usually have an internal teleport system. A button on the wall teleports you up, same for down.

Saves on space, and, more importantly, prims. Stairs take up a lot of room, unless you go spiral, and have you ever tried to walk an av up one of those? Lots of prims too.

The usual solution is to use a teleporter. Most people who build such houses will include one. There are other ways (like using a landmark, or using your camera controls to get to the second floor, and then sitting on something there), but they're less convenient.

You can find houses with stairs or similar. Some people prefer them, some prefer teleporters. It's just a matter of taste.

If these houses are for sale they probably have a tp system built in,check that.I would also check out the vast array of freebie houses some of those are good. You can also mess about with those without doing any lindens.
