Clear cache logout and back in and try again. Do this a few times. Look in the Recent Items TAB in your inventory. Set the Inventory parameters back a few days and search for your HUD. If you've tried all that - can't think of any more. Hope you get it back PS I've lost a jumping dolphin - he jumped off world and just disappeard! If anyone knows how I can get him back, I'd be glad of suggestions. It was all my fault, I rezd him too close to the edge. He's been gone for 3 days now and not come back to my lost and found.

Another trick to help your Inventory load fully is to go through the clear cache routine, then log on from an empty sim. I use Sargasso, which is mostly ocean and has little traffic.
As for the lost dolphin, I've lost some items too, and they're usually stuck on a sim boundary, or thrown into the sim corners. Go to the Debug menu and disable terrain view and camera constraints so you can cam down pretty deep and then scan the sim boundaries, paying special attention to the corners. (Let me know if you need the actual rendering menu names -- can't remember them off the top of my head.)
You'd be suprised what's hanging around down there.

I've just scoured the sim boundary and couldn't find him - even used wireframe - he's vanished! Maybe if I asked Snow the dolphin to come and call in dolphin sonar squeaks and whistles, he might come home.

Lost inventory items *usually* come back, although they may take several cache clearings and relogs. And it may simply take time. I've had Library folders that were lost for weeks, months even...but eventually reappeared.
I've always gotten back lost animals, although sometimes it takes a while. My seagull wandered off his station last week and started crying to me in chat every couple of seconds. He wasn't where he said he was, though, and I couldn't find him. I finally had to mute the poor thing. A couple of days ago, he finally made his way into my Lost and Found folder.

Ah ha! I've had this problem, and have a fix for it OOPS - edited to say if you can't find your HUD in your inventory, then it's probably SL being borked last night. If, however, your HUD is there and claims it's being worn (eg on top left) but you can't see it - here's a tip to find it: Basically, it seems to happen if you ever load up SL in a window that isn't max size. The HUDs are there, but they're outside the visible screen (even if you subsequently maximise the screen). Here's the fix: 1. If ANY of your HUDs are visible somewhere on the screen, ignore this next bit and go to step 3. 2. If no HUDs at all are visible on your screen, create one - just rezz a small cube (click "Build", click the magic wand somewhere on land where you're allowed to build such as a sandbox or your own land), take it to your inventory (right click it, then Take) then find it in your inventory, right click it and choose Attach to HUD and attach to the CENTRE of your screen. Then it should be visible - it's HUDs attached to an edge somewhere like top or left that end up hiding. 3. You now have a visible HUD. Right click on it and choose Edit. 4. Now if you use the scroll button on your mouse to zoom in and out - zoom out. You'll see a red box appear which represents your screen, and as you zoom out you'll see all your hidden HUDs OUTSIDE this red box. You can then simply edit these and drag them back inside the red box again. 5. Come out of edit mode once you've got all your HUDs back inside the red box - and the screen will revert to full screen again, with all your HUDs visible.

(BTW, great last name--you don't happen to live in the hollow of the white hazel near to the rapid whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave, do you?)

I didn't see any tuna fishing boats.....oh, I do hope you are wrong there - my poor dolphin! ...and sadly not - I live in Crameri, but it is very nearly as nice (BTW my Orca pod are all ok - that's Tom, Jerry, Freya, Shampoo and Willey - none of them need freeing.)
