Can you send messages to friends from your registered email outright or do they have to message you for you to get it in your inbox to be able to reply back to? Anyone know?

Thank you. I already do it that way, if I get something in my email from them, I can reply and they'll get it in-world to respond. Where can I download this SLEEK you speak of?
Your second option is correct Siggy providing they have their 'send IM to email' option selected but there is also one or two other applications, SLEEK being one that allows you to send into in-world IMs. I've never run it myself but it's basically a slightly reduced SL client. |

Also check www.zonkster.com I think you have to verify your avatar inworld before you can start sending messages with it, but I've had 2 people send me messages that way and it works.

Yep, it does look like you have to enter a "it's really me' code and be in-world when you do it in order for it to work. I sent a message to a friend who is in-world and haven't heard anything back yet.

Sleek hasn't been working for me tonight. Not sure if recent changes have broken something in it, but the developer stopped further development on it back in October.

For Rhom::
There are login issues atm, I can't login for some reason right now using either SLeek OR the standard SL client.... *runs off to try again* Some kind of packet receival error during the handshake phase...though I've mentioned this elsewhere... 2 days now I can't log in... For the OP:: Yes there is... I will try and get some details for you once I manage to get logged in... Worded that wrong... Yes, you can email outright... there are ways, but for the one I use, you need land to keep a little object in that handles it.. |
