Good morning, all. Some of you may know that my Arwen's RL self is reported as having passed away at 5AM last Thursday morning. The cause of death is consistent with long term injuries she sustained when she was hit by a taxi in mid winter (this is substantiated).
I will miss her greatly. I know many of you have been hurt by falsified deaths, but I've compared notes at length with Arwen's alt's GF and there are just too many clues that add up to this being real, plus the NY Times only posts obits online by special request, and we don't know the RL's last name, only her first and the first name of her BF.
Now, here's the question: Arwen built us a couple of residences on our group land and fixed them up with a large amount of personal material, such as photos etc. She never got around to letting me manage her inventory (there was always "tomorrow", just like RL) and I can't do anything with the objects in question. I've opened a support ticket with the Lindens but was wondering if there are any other options. Our (the alt's SL GF and I) only communication with Arwen's "estate" is an occasional Yahoo IM from her RL live-in boyfriend, who is closing her SL accounts. Any other options anyone can think of regarding the objects that are in her name only (I guess I can take pictures of the pictures and clean them up in Photoshop, but the textures and toys are not replaceable)? Thanks, all.

Wouldn't her BF be the one to transfer her assets to you?

What are you asking - how to keep the items? If they are not copyable, you can't. If you know their family, ask them to get into the account and send them to the SL friends/loved ones perhaps.
If the issue is removing the items, set the land to object return.
I do offer condolences, too.

From: Argent Stonecutter Wouldn't her BF be the one to transfer her assets to you? He does not have access to her SL accounts, as best we can tell, just to her Yahoo IM login. I'm assuming if he knew that we wanted certain assets he could tell the Linden Support people when he called in to cancel her accounts. With any luck the ticket I opened will set a flag so that when the accounts are cancelled they will know enough to ask him what he wants to do with the assets. I'm down to just a few irreplaceable items now, some of the things were set to group with modify capabilities. I don't want to lose the house she built with the textures and pictures...I could recreate it but it wouldn't be the same. Thanks.

Keeping ownership of the land is your best bet. That way her items won't be returned.

It looks like I'm all set for now, as long as I don't sell the land. Thanks to everyone for the help and the kind words! You are a great bunch of people

What the RL bf can do is send in her death certificate to LL and ask that the account is transferred to you or the other gf. They have done this in the past. This assuming she had RL info on file for those accounts. So if you are comfortable asking him this, it is an option. Its important to remember that he is in grief now too, so maybe its not the right time to ask. But I am sure you will be sensitive about that.
If you keep the land, the objects will remain as someone else mentioned. If you are on mainland: Any tier contribution she had will be gone though when her account is cancelled, so make sure you make up for that or you will lose the land (and the objects).
I am sorry for your loss.

I am sorry for your loss. I don't want to put the BF through all that, but thanks for the suggestion. I am all set with the stuff I wanted to save, except for 3 objects that I'll just purchase again. I'll be selling off a 512m parcel that will get the tier down to what I can cover myself. Again, thanks for the suggestion. (anybody looking for 512m in a nice neighborhood in Basenville, relatively cheap?)

Jackie, I'm so sorry. You've lived, and lost, a whole lifetime in your few short months in SL.
