Be an interesting thing I think to be able to see especially after almost 3 yrs. in SL. But then I also might faint...
Someone asked me the other day how much I had spent and got me wondering if there was a way to find out.
cheers! These forums are CLOSED. Please visit the new forums HERE

Is there anyway (easy way) to figure out an avatars worth by all purchased in SL? Or Maybe inventory value?

You could work out how many stipend payments you've received, and how much real money you've put into SL. Subtracting any US$/L$ remaining you'd have your total spend. AFAIK, L$ transaction history only goes back a month, but US$ account history covers the whole lifetime of an account.
https://secure-web21.secondlife.com/account/statement.php?lang=en Of course you'd have to separate out tier fees, land rentals, incidentals like upload fees etc. but it'd at least let you know how much you've poured in. _____________________

How much is all the fun you have had worth?
Interesting question though in terms of RL money .. not sure I want to know ... ![]() _____________________

I don't think I would want to know how much $ I have in inventory items or have spent on rents and Tier Fees...I guess as long as you can take $ out or not put $ in then you are ahead of the Game

I have spent a rough average of $100 a month in SL over the 15 months I've been a member, but some of that was on land and also on Tips , gifts , etc. So it's hard to say how much I've spent on Me. A lot.

I'm probably up around 75% if you count all the toys and such. Mine is just 40% because I am so goddamned generous (and I have several parcels of land just to accommodate the preposterous amount of primmage I have accumulated). _____________________

I have 500USD worth of skins in my inventory...I don't want to contemplate what my overall total would be.

Inrteresting how many of us have about the same SL entertainment budget. Mine's about $100 a month, too...although lately I've been spending a lot less, most months. More like $50 - 60.
But none of this is what an avatar is "worth". It's what SL "costs". The avatar...your SL name, account, and inventory... is actually worth nothing...because it cannot, by the TOS, be re-sold. (Except the transferable items in your inventory, as individual pieces.) Lots of people enjoy SL for less than I spend. Lots spend even more. All I can say is that I think I've gotten much more than my money's worth. _____________________

By 'inventory value' I'm guessing our avatars are worth pretty much zero.
Otherwise you could garage-sale yourself or sell your avatar on the black market for a bunch of money. Of course that's not allowed, but even if it happened a little bit I'm sure we would all hear tons of chatter about avatar sales. Let's face it, nobody wants us ![]() _____________________

i've spent exactly $1US on Second Life since i began over a year ago. all my monies come from land sales, store item sales, and camping, and any tier and purchases come from money collected within SL itself. when SL can no longer support itself for me, i'll probably go back to basic.... if camping is eliminated, it's a certainty that LL will lose their income from both my 2 premium memberships and combined tier, because camping pays for all of that.
plus i've actually cashed out hundreds of dollars made from SL. _____________________

Hiya Kurt and thanks for all the responses.
Oh no I would never want to sell my account, my over stuffed inventory is dear to me. I guess I will play with the spreadsheet in excel, I just haven't messed with it before and didn't know if I could go back 3 yrs or not (lazy like that, too much like work, haha) I know some of my most expensive purchases were Starax's wand and some pre-fabs I had to have, even though I decorated them for awhile then started on another home. Oh and land purchases. Be nice to have an overall amount such as: You have purchased or spent this much in SL $xxx.xx since born on date... lol ![]() *edit* oh and it has been worth every penny, I mean Linden! _____________________

is this by how much we have spent on our inventory?
if so...not enough and way too much all at the same time.. my guesstimate would be since birth in sl for my inventory which will be two years in july..about 3500 a year not counting what i made in game give or take 1,000. i bought my alt some things also ..so it was not all just this account i guess so it may be lower.. _____________________

Technically, there is such a list, in a way - your account statement page.
https://secure-web11.secondlife.com/account/statement.php?lang=en You would have to sift through it month by month though. _____________________

I think what would be more interesting isn't how much we've spent on our entire inventory, but how much we've spent on the skins/hair/clothes we wear most of the time. Me, I've spent a fortune on skins and hair and stuff, but I end up mostly wearing a cheap skin, a hair I've had for ages, and a set of freebie clothes, and I think they look better than the more expensive stuff I was wearing before. My main weakness though, is buying cool avatars that I end up wearing only once.

$90 a year for my premium account (plus the one time $9.95 fee we used to be charged for creating a free account.......I started out as a free account) plus four times that I've purchased Linden ($20 each time) for 2 1/2 years. That is actual cash out of my RL. In world I've had various "jobs" plus my L$500 a week stipend. I enter and win my fair share of events. I have an alt (a payment info on file but free account). Between the two of us we have about L$75,000 in our combined Second Life accounts. I have no tier since I only own 512 meters of Mainland. So, I suppose my stay in SL has been basically free.......which means my two avatars are "worthless"!!!!
Not sure I wanted to think of that.........LOL. |

Monetary value spent != avatar worth. All avatars are inherently worthless except to their typist because they all start the same way and you are not allowed to transfer them - so a even a cool named avatar is worthless. However the typist is priceless.
It does even equate to cash worth as some items from a long time ago have decreased or increased in value. Examples: 1. A skin that was bought at L$4000 that so many people bought and used because it was good is near worthless to those who want to look different now. 2. A Starax scuplture is worth far more now than when Starax created it. 3. A gambling machine is worthless now whatever price was paid. It bears some thinking about. _____________________

i was looking at what i had spent..if i had to put a worth on it for me i would say more than i spent because i love all the clothes and things i have bought..if i added land and things like that house and all the things besides my skins and clothes and omg hair lol..it would be way more.. because if i had to take all that time to go and get them again organize them all over again and make another system with the images i have uploaded for each folder..i would just say forget it..
if i put a price on what the items were worth today..some you can't get anymore so i couldn't really..only what i've spent on them.. so i'll say ..priceless lol _____________________

OMG that's terrifying, I so don't want to know. Needless to say I never spent a penny of my own cash, but I was quite the land baron at one time. Flipped land, even SIMs like there was no tomorrow. Can't even imagine how much cash I have spent now.
