Problem:: I'm seeing something in the West that no one else sees...

When I cam to the west in my shop in the Clothes sim, I see a cluster of small spheres, striped black/alpha. They look like a bunch of bacteria through a microscope. I knew SL was Buggy, but this ... nevermind, I'm too frustrated today with the freezing, crashing, and other viewer things that are happening to me to make jokes about what this thing looks like.

First things first..the Western Cluster as I've come to call it.

I'm attempting to post some pictures and link them from photobucket so you can see it. My partner cannot see it with his viewer. It is almost like a visual "floater" but it only appears when I cam west...and it was visable on a wall outside my shop, from me just caming around.

Anyone else see anything like this?

Is there anything on the outside wall that might be showing through, or an overlapping wall that's giving you the dueling texture effect? Hit object-object occlusion and see if that makes a difference. Have you cleared cache?

It almost looks like your monitor is going south, but if it's always on one point of the wall, and not one point of the screen, then that isn't it.

Weird.

Are you wearing any HUDs? Any facelights? Do you see it when you log in as an alt or on the beta grid?

ummm, screenies don't capture burn in

right - and burn in doesn't move about the screen or only show when she looks west. I pretty much ruled that one out. It does look like a weird screen problem, though, doesn't it?

that happens to me when i don't clean my glasses.

looks like objects with bumpmaps and alpha. can you see them if you turn on show transparent? (Ctrl-Alt-T)

I'm running a Gateway 15 inch flat screen lcd vga monitor (I think it's LCD I'm only a woman ) and it's no where else except on the wall in a certain place in my store when I look west, or if I cam outside, it's still there.

I'll get more data later tonight when I can log in again. I'll try highlight transparent, and the other suggestions. Maybe I'll file a ticket on it, huh?

And I did clean my glasses too, how do glasses get so dirty anyway? I gotta a lotta eye boogers

The first photo looks a lot like a cluster of Heart sculpty boulders.

I have to say, this creeps me out a little. This is how I pictured the "Tsathogguans" from Colin Wilson's Lovecraftian novel, The Mind Parasites. They are things that scurry out of the way when you look into the corners of your mind.

Was there a break-in and the culprit leaving his/her prints behind? Tried clearing cache? I have been seeing weird things myself lately ranging from alien light to sims becoming swarms or deserts.

Yes, I've seen this happen before. These are the ghosts of sculpted prims. Consider hiring an exorcist.

I"m so broke I can't pay attention..Hey, I know! I have a benefit! hire a DJ, and stuff, to raise money to hire an exorcist...lord knows my clothes don't sell, gotta do something to pay the rent...

or maybe not, rents up there in a short while and I dunno if I'm gonna be able to pay it...maybe solved just by having to close shop

I did have a linden buy a suit of mine...but he hasn't been back for more..I tried to file one today, but the support portal didn't like me, took 45 minutes, and I didnt have time to ***** with it any longer.


Besides, would they really do anything anyway? Fire + backside + map + both hands + driving rain + entire fire brigade = still lost.......

I actually took screen shots of what my day to day SL looks like...emailed them to a friend, they coudln't believe it...they asked how I functioned day to day, I said I ignored the screen mostly..just read text...

My neighbor has a tank with a squidlike thing in it, and sculptie eggs....and they are "bleeding" through every other texture to me...my partner can't see it...but I can.

so that's what it is, now to IM the neighbor and see if he'll do anything, prolly won't...
