Japanese Themed Screens Needed -- Help

Hello!

A year ago I bought some beautiful land in Black Art sim. It was on a hill and I set up my first area -- a Japanese tea house (still somewhat under construction LOL). In any event, the entire region has gone to hell, as often happens, and I've temporarily put up a bamboo wall but I don't like it. It's very claustrophobic.

The parcel size isn't very big either. But I do have prims to spare. Can anyone offer suggestions or else tell me who would have a screen that would suit this area? Please please and thanks?

I just want to enclose the area now and be done with it. Black Art's glory days are long gone, and I still want to keep the land... just isolate it now visually.

Please feel free to visit here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Black Art/223/22/55

Thank you so much!

A guy named Rricardo Cortez. Not sure of his last name but I believe he's the only guy with 2 R's in his first name so type that name alone in search. He sells lots of Japanese stuff.

TRU has a whole bunch of textures of Japanese screens, both opaque and semi-opaque, with either plain or patterned rice papers.

Fences make good neighbors....

There are many very nice eastern-style fences and gates - my home in Farstone incorporates a mod of a great fence & gate package sold by Effulgent Brown. You can even find some with "moongates," round archways in the zen style; SLExchange has one created by Karmic Forager for a modest price here:

Also, you could do like I did and put up a see-through forest. Find a nice forest picture you like, and open it in Photoshop. Use the eraser tool, and set it to "Erase background." Remove the color of the sky, and then save the picture as a targa file with Alpha channel (Robin Sojurner has a really neat tutorial on creating Alpha textures.) You can create a nice wooded border that you can still see in-between the branches and trunks of the trees.

Take a look at my land in Farstone 42, 43, 91; it's in my profile picks and can also be found in search under "Firefly Sanctuary." There I have a walled gate, a forest screen, and dense patches of plants, all to protect my view from the ads nearby. (What can I say... when I escape reality I like to really get away from it all and hide!) Hopefully it will give you some inspiration.

A friend of mine called Zephyre Sheridan has some beautiful Japanese style screens for sale at a very reasonable price. I'm not in world at the moment, but look for Castillia Home on the map, his place is in the Eastern Central area of the island.

The Hosoi Ichiba (where I work) has a range of walls and gates, done in a traditional asian style. SLURL is on the blog linked to in my sig.

i did somethign a little different to screen out the neighbours on our property with out japanese style home... i used the landscaping to do it. I picked up these great bamaboo plants... then a slightly tropical screen of plants... like was mentioned with the woods.... then i put up the tropical screen and added the bamboo in front, every now and again adding other plants from around our landscaping (in our case a few ferns mixed in with some more traditional flowers

if you would like to check it out feel free to im me in world...

this is proberly a more expensive route, but much more athetically pleasing

I have a bamboo wall that I really like. If you'd like it, send me an IM in world and I'll gift you with it.

Of course, I did read that you didn't like your bamboo wall, which is why I'm not just dropping it on you to begin with, but am waiting for you to indicate interest.

I have some Japanese landscapes among the landscape screens I sell at my shop. Maybe they will work for you. I'll pay a visit to your location when I get a chance.
