What the heck is HEAP? I've crashed twice this week - SL or windows says I heaped. Is there something I can do to prevent this?

My Resident Geek muttered something about "a Windows memory thing" when this occurred here.
I've started seeing Stack Heap, Runtime Error, and Out of Memory crashes with the latest Windlight First Look release.
My advice is to either go back to your previous version, or try Nicholaz' viewer patch.
Oh...and no, there's nothing you can do to prevent it, that I know about at least. It's a fundamental bug somewhere in the viewer software.

If I remember my tech101, you're running into a memory error where the program is attempting to write to the memory position (total memory)+1.
