 I was ingame..everything was fine..crashed to desktop..got an exception error for SL..kept popping up when i tried to relog. Restarted my computer, now my registry is corrupt and cant even get into my user profile. I mean WTH happened! Anyone have any suggestions, or a loaded shotgun I can borrow? |

I dont know..i was a retard and didnt write it down..something about x0000 buncha numbers and said exception error..now i have no registry for my user profile in windows..had to create a new user profile, I mean its like SL wiped out my schtuff!

In my experience, profiles and registries all of a sudden dissapearing, have always been precursors to a hard drive failing. I have always backed up and saved what I could from the drive, and replaced it as soon as I could. I am not saying a windows or hardware glitch could not cause this, just that it has always been the actual drive going bad in my case.

Just cause its new, doesnt mean its not failing.......
its very unlikely SL caused THAT problem
Run " chkdsk.exe " and see if it reports any errors or bad sectors, if so then get a new drive and restore from your backup ( you do have a backup? )
with a little luck the drive might still be under warranty

yes everything was running perfect, then a crash to desktop, like i said..got the error, restarted puter only to find my windows user profile wouldnt load..said it had a corrrupt reg something..tried sys restore, said there was no restore save point..too odd! ack
