I work in a sim that will require age verification in three days, my support tickets isn't being answered and i dunno what to do.
I've tried SSN and Drivers license, neither works. I'm not willing to pay hundred euros for passport if there's chance it wont work either. I'll lose my land and my business in three days unless I find way to work this out.

Just want to make sure it's *age* verification, and not *adult* verification that will be required. Because, if the latter, you can just put payment info on file (and, to get it to register without contacting support, you'd probably need to actually use the payment info by buying a few L$s).

From: Argent Stonecutter Why on earth is anyone still using that absolete age verification setting? There seems to be a common misunderstanding that if they set age verify on a parcel they are off the hook with respect to adult content. I come across this daily over at the age verify zone http://slurl.com/secondlife/Concinna/160/29/32Admittedly this is very confusing and poorly explained in LL's documentation.

If some business owners get the idea that checking the age verification-thingy for their parcel/sim is a smart move, they are bound to lose quite a bit of business from those who have trouble verifying. But since this was an entire sim it was talk of, I would assume it will be changing to adult rating which only requires account verification.

They may be (in truth accurately) under the impression that account verification with payment info used does not in fact mean that the account holder is an adult. Age verification doesn't either but it's the best means we currently have available, since it's incredibly easy for an under-18 child to use their own credit or debit card to get payment info used on their account.

Depending what this sim is, its owner is probably making a big mistake, but assuming that owner is determined to go ahead with it: It is possible to get manually age-verified by LL. You would have to file a support ticket and it probably wouldn't be resolved within that three-day interval, but anyway the instructions are on From: the Knowledge Base What happens if I experience problems when I try to verify my identity? The new age verification feature is in beta. Please be patient as we continue to improve the feature. We are committed to making sure the process is as smooth and user-friendly as possible; however, we understand that this represents a change for Residents. We have also tested the system extensively with our systems provider, Aristotle-Integrity, which has delivered this type of technology to other companies. If you continue to have problems verifying your identity, please go to the Second Life Support Portal and submit a ticket (selekt* Special Questions - Basic account or Guest Login from the Ticket Type dropdown, selekt* Account Issues from the next dropdown, and choose Manual Age Verification from the next).
Please attach electronic (scanned) copies of the following materials:
* Government issued identification that has your date of birth clearly displayed. This identification should be one or more of the following: o Birth Certificate o Driver's License o Passport * A utility bill with your name and address clearly displayed.
To attach a file to your ticket:
1. Log into the Second Life Support Portal and click the My Support History tab. 2. Click the Ticket # of the age verification ticket you submitted. 3. Click the Comment button. 4. Click the Attach a file link. 5. Browse for the file on your computer and click Open. 6. To attach another file, click the Attach another file link. 7. Click the Submit button. 8. The files you specified will be uploaded and attached to the ticket.
Please expect manual verification to take 5-7 working days.
________ *"selekt" is like "select" but doesn't offend the delicate sensibilities of the SQL-injection detector.

From: Argent Stonecutter It's easier to get Elvis Presley's current address. True but even a kid who is willing to use their own information can get legitimately account verified. That was the point, a minor can be verified through payment info used without the need to lie. So turning on age verification is one more layer of security for landowners to cover their own assets. Like it or not the evidence is already there and the writing is on the wall.

I don't see a difference between putting in Evlis Presley's information and lying about being over 18 on the signup screen. Seriously. There are no innocent kids on the adult grid. From: someone So turning on age verification is one more layer of security for landowners to cover their own assets. All it does is turn away honest people and allow crooks in.
