Maybe back in Secondlife after a long time.

I'm considering coming back into secondlife after about 6 months of being out of it. I've been dithering coming back for a tiny bit before going out again for the last month or so.

Originally i came out because i was tired of the performance/lag issues... because i couldnt find enough like minded individuals, real life started moving.

I think im ready to come back now... but i need to get back involved again and wondered if anyone could give me a hand.

A little CV of what i did before i left...

Opened a mall which was mildly succesfull before selling it off.
Opened a club and ran it well for a few months before my managing partner packed it in (he has now gone to some big things....really big)
Opened up a successfull investment fund that invested in secondlife companys

Started building professionally focusing on modern architecture and how real life architecture bares on what we build in secondlife.

The latter two came this year.

I'm really wanting to get involved with some projects now in secondlife again and thats why i need some help because i am out of touch with secondlife now somewhat.

To be clear im not interested in anything to do with clubs/malls/sex etc because i believe secondlife can be used for soo much more than this and although it all should have its place i believe there are far too many clubs/malls/sex places/lands in world already.


So if anyone has any pipeline projects they are working on or anything that is already up and running.... im really interested in helping out and hopefully creating something new/interesting that does something different

Welcome back! If you're good at building, why not try to sell high quality pre-fabs? There are a lot of people selling them right now--but they are mostly poorly designed and overpriced boxes. There was a ton of land released while you were gone, and many are buying homes to put on their new plots and/or getting bored with the ones they bought already. Hint: Think homes that would fit on the beach and that include a pool.

My orginal alt Dagon Grimm joined 2/23/03 I was on here dozen times took close to three year break. I was and I am still ancient clueless newbie sometimes.
I have come long ways with making textures,etc but still got longer way to go and I haven't done even tiny percentage of what you've done.
I vote you do things that are fun for you that add to your enjoyment.
I have experimented with house building too its bit hard to unique shapes that don't give that claustrophic fill but perhaps that is just me. There are some cheap and affordable curved buildings out there but it always be nice to see more.

thanks for the feedback guys... yea before i left i was doing custom buildings for clients. Sculpties came out when i was still just hanging on in there and im interested in their potential to be used in house building with say something like a curved roof or a curved interior so ill be asking some sculptie experts in order to guage exactly what they can do.

I've joined this very exciteing project called wikitecture in which multiple users all contribute on a building using a very clever little tool that allows people to vote on new additions and also for the organisers to go back to a previous state of the building its very interesting. Like a building made in the same style of wikipedia.

ive decided on focusing on the architecture side of it all

to get back into building and the general swing of things im gonna offer to do custom buildings/houses for people on a first come first serve basis... for free. I normally charge quite a bit (or well i used to) so it may be an opportunity if you like the sort of stuff i do. I do modern architecture... not space age obviously and not gimmicky but just (well i hope) good clean design.

So if anyone is interested just IM me or post in this thread cause ill certainly to a few customs for people.... im most likely to do it for someone if they have an interesting plot of land for me to build on but im out there to help people at the mo
