Hi I am having a problem with group members (a group that I created) being allowed to change the audio and video media settings on some land I own on a island estate.
First off:
- I have enabled these group members to modify the media setting in the group permissions.
but ...
The land has NOT been deeded to the group.
an instead ...
The group has been assigned to the land through the "About Land" dialog.
So what I don't understand why is it that these group members can rezz objects and move the existing objects on the land but they can not modify the media settings. Is this feature only available when the land has been deeded to the group?
Thanks in advance Jessica

From: JessicaNichol Kappler Is this feature only available when the land has been deeded to the group? I am pretty sure that's the way it works, Jessica. The Group permissions settings for your land would only take effect if the land is actually owned by the Group. It's possible to let others change your land's media settings without the land being group owned. You can set up a sort of remote control that will change the media settings. The owner of the land owns the remote control, and the remote listens for commands from authorized people or objects. The free, FreeView player includes this feature. You might want to use it to experiment. /54/0a/53520/1.html

From: JessicaNichol Kappler Is this feature only available when the land has been deeded to the group? Thanks in advance Jessica Yes. Note 1: Be sure to go down the group member Roles and ensure you have all the Abilities (un)checked to your desire. Specifically the options to SELL the land. My advice is to always turn off EVERYTHING in the Everyone Role, since everyone is placed in this Role by default. You can then manually assign members to specifically created Roles for different levels of Abilities as you desire. Note 2: The good thing about this is the 10% land bonus from grouping your land. That is, you can have 110% of the sq m of land before going into the next highest teir bracket. See the KnowledgeBase on "Group Land" for more information. (Yeah, I know. the KB sucks, but in THIS case, they actually have all the information there.) ~Jessy

The land needs to be deeded. On an island you don't need to donate tier to deed it and you should probably set up a new group to avoid confusion.
