I'm having an issue with my Mystitool hud when I right click and hit wear and it says Object Missing from Database. I tried logging in to the release viewer and attaching it there but the same error comes up. Any help?

That's a dreaded error message, but I think it's possible for a corrupted cache to generate that kind of error, so you might try putting yourself on an empty sim (maybe one of the Mainland all-water sims in the middle of nowhere), Edit / Preferences / Network / clear cache, and relogging. You'll have to wait for Inventory to reload from scratch, and then see if the thing will attach properly. If not... well, let's cross our fingers and hope it doesn't come to that.

I got that message a few weeks ago. In my case it was my body shape and skin that was missing. Clearing cache didn't help.
After 24 hours of desperately trying to make a replacement, the original returned. I guess some asset server or summat deep in the bowels of LL went down and then got fixed. I expect your missing HUD will return shortly. |

I don't think there's much more you can do on your end.
You can file a Support ticket for lost inventory. Not sure if you have to be Premium to do that kind of ticket or not. Anyway, if you can, you probably should; maybe a pattern of lost Inventory items will lead LL to find whatever hunk of Asset data went offline or is being scribbled over by something broken. There is a more extreme form of viewer reset that's possible (deleting the avatar preferences folder), but I don't think it would help with this problem. Otherwise... wait, I guess, and hope it magically returns. |

Are you perhaps a victim of the "detach bug," described here: http://imakehuddles.com/wordpress/2009/06/19/the-detach-bug-is-not-fixed/? If that sounds likely, from what she says it might be worth contacting Andrew Linden. Can't hurt, anyway.

Still not back yet and have contacted the maker for a replacement who... I haven't seen online yet. Should I buy another?

Have you filed that support ticket yet? The Huddles link that Innula posted claims that you don't need to be Premium to file that kind of ticket (if that was a consideration) and that LL can usually find and return the lost Inventory. (That's not been my experience, but I'm basing that on a very old and very small sample.)
The thing is that it's really the contents that you put in the Mysti that's most valuable to you. Otherwise there's not much that a Mystitool does that you couldn't do with freebie stuff, temporarily, if you really needed to, while hoping your "stocked" Mysti finds its way back. |
