Question about group owned items?

I just set a few valuable group owned items to the group of the land where I rent. The problem is I have no control over them now? I can't pick them up, change the positions or anything. It gives me an option to return but wouldn't that go to the group owner? Is there any way to get my stuff back??

Returning should go to the person deeding the items, as for editing and moving them, you need to have the rentgroup active and have the apropriate rights, your landlord/lady can give you those rights but might not do it in fear of abuse.

I tried returning the least valuable one and it didn't let me. Do I need to contact the group owner now?

the group owner or someone with the group rights to return group owned objects (officer for exemple) can return the objects.
They will go back to the origional owner (who rezzed it)

An officer of the group (with rights) will have to either return the objects or sell the back to you. They should sell them back to you for 0 Linden.

BTW -- There are very few items that actually have to be "deeded to the group". Most of the time you simply need the proper group tag active when you rez the item. Radios usually need a piece deeded to the group because it needs to be able to change the media setting on the parcel. Off the top of my head, I cannot think of anything else that requires deeding to the group, but there probably are a few other things.
