We have all seen photos in stores of models in the exact same pose but wearing different outfits. I have a need for some kind of stationary camera outside the body as if it is sitting on a tripod freeing up my avatar to move around and make small changes in a scene.

How would you do this? Are there such cameras or would you just use an alt logged in at the same time and not move him?

I have a crazy idea of playing with stop motion animation in SL a la Ray Harryhausen using prim models. I know there are scripts that move things more smoothly, but stop motion or Claymation is a unique look. Of course it could get tedious too. I just want to experiment.

You can fix the location of the camera to an absolute position with a script. But I think using a camera alt sitting on a prim gives you a more powerful and versatile tool.
