On my laptop, the ESC key is very small and located right next to the equally small F1 key. Normally this isn't too much of a problem because I don't use the ESC key much, but it gets a lot of use in SL, and consequently I also frequently press F1 by mistake, especially when I'm working in the dark (which is most of the time). Even more annoying, I have SL configured to open pages in an external browser, so whenever I press F1, Firefox opens and begins loading the help page, which consumes a significant amount of time and memory because I have it set to open all the tabs I'd had open previously. In short... is there a way I can just disable the "F1" shortcut so it completely ignores it if I press it? This would make me very happy. And no, I'm not going to change the behavior to open URLs in the internal browser, or change Firefox to not open my previous session... I find these behaviors highly desirable in every other situation, and I'm not going to sacrifice those just because of this particular undesirable behavior

If it's a windows computer, I believe you can use the AutoHotkey program to disable the F1 key for SL. The AutoHotkey script to do this is From: someone #IfWinActive, ahk_class Second Life F1:: I just tested it and it works. AutoHotkey is free and it's at http://www.autohotkey.com/ . I think it's by the same outfit that does AutoIt, and that you can do the same with AutoIt.

From: SuezanneC Baskerville #IfWinActive, ahk_class Second Life F1:: Or why not change Sue's second line as follows? From: someone #IfWinActive, ahk_class Second Life F1::Esc Then way when you press your F1 accidentally, it will be as if you had pressed escape all along!
