Why or when and on what schedule do maps update ? I own 3 Regions/Estates and it takes for ever for these maps to update. WHY? What is the schedule its done?

The schedule is erratic, and you can't predict it. There's some sort of background task that checks sim to sim for the current map update image. But it has a LOT of sims to check. Apparently it's run as a stand-alone task that builds and updates the map, and not as a server-side function on each sim that could send updates to a central server whenever things change.

I've seen it take anywhere from 1 to 6 months for the map image of my sim to update.

These numbers sound about right to me. I saw one time where someone had places a big clock up in the sky. When the map update occurred, there was a snapshot of the date/time on the map. It might be something for sale; I haven't looked. --Hugsy
