So, has anyone figured out how to stop doing that stupid pointing thing with my arm/hand anytime I touch or edit or buy something? Depending on which way I'm actually facing vs which direction the object is that I'm interacting with, sometimes I look really dorky and like I've got a broken arm.

LOL, LittleMe...I thought that was just standard operating procedure in SL...my arm does the same thing!

One of Torley's tutorials dealt with the setting that would turn off the typing animation and sound when to type in local chat. Seems like there ought to be a similar one for the "pointing thing".

If you dod find it please let us know, I'd love to turn that off. I'm a bit nosy and I'd live to be able to poke at things without everyone knowing. :)

One thing you can do is to find animations that have a higher priority than that default gesture, and put them in your AO. Many do. If you're not sure, you can ask the creator, and they should be able to tell you.

You can look at Animation Info, too, to get priorities.

And I'm guessing that the priority is something that is set during upload since I have some that do not say 'no mod' but I can find no way to set a priority on them?

My AO seems to over-ride the pointing thing.

My AO seems to over-ride the pointing thing.
This got me to messing around with creating/editing items and it seems that when I am using my normal Stand or usual Sit AO, every now and then the arm still points at stuff but most times it doesn't. I wonder if this is just another one of those SL stange things and I only notice it when the arm is doing something dumb looking.
