Questions about group owned private island

I'm trying to run a private island. I have divided it into two parcels, groupowned by two different groups:
- One group/parcel for rental (not subdivided). I would like my tenants to see their primcount. I tried to set it up in the grouproles but have been unable to do so. This problem I have resolved with a primcounter on the island but it would be far more convenient if they could see that in "about land".
Anyone know if it's possible for groupmembers to see primcount in about land and how to set that up?
- One group/parcel for the community building. I want only certain roles to be able to build/rezz but can't figure that out. If I turn build by group off in "about land" no one is able to build and if I turn it on everyone is, regardless of the grouproles/abilities.
Is it possible to have only certain roles be able to build/rezz on groupowned land and if yes, how?

It would be great if someone could help me inworld.

I think we figured it out, in case anyone else wants to do something like this.

To see primcounts, there are three separate abilities under Parcel Content: "Return objects owned by group," "...objects set to group," and "...non-group objects." It seems that to see the primcounts of specific owners of each of those kinds of objects, those Abilities have to be enabled. So, in theory, I could create three different objects, one set to a different group, one set to the land group, and one deeded to the land group; to see all three of those objects in the counts, the role has to have all three of those abilities checked. *But* one really wouldn't want everybody to be able to return objects set (nor, especially, deeded) to group. So... I think the prim counting script may still be the best solution for this application.

For the desired building permissions, the About Land / Options setting for Create Objects must be disabled for both Everyone and Group, and then in the Group Info, the Roles that should be able to build need to have the "Parcel Powers" Ability to "Always allow 'Create Objects'" enabled.

I wouldn't want my tenants to be able to return group owned objects so I agree a seperate primcounter would be a better option.
The building options I had tried but maybe on a buggy SL day... So thanks very much Qie for resolving this with me and take the time!

It is still not solved. Build is inactive..sometimes. Only rezzing abilities seem to be good for the roles I appointed them to. Build has a life of it's own. Is this a known bug?

not sure what you mean by build, as rez and build are basically the same thing, just different words for it

to be able to build one must be able to rez... building is just manipulating those little cubes

as for the rest, I would guess via group roles... never had to do it so not sure which would be the best way to go

Found it on Jira http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-859
Seems to be a bug, the Viewer currently fails to evaluate this in deciding whether to activate the Build button.

One can workaround the issue using either Ctrl-4 (shortcut for opening the Create build window) or using Client > View Admin Options (Ctrl-Alt-V).
