Anyone know of some really good urban areas to visit? Something with a big city feel. You know…Skyscrapers!

I would say the city I built, but it is gone now LOL (at the end I was messing around and had some pretty high skyscrapers there)
someday I will have my own sim, done my own way (would prefer mainland though)
anywho

I’ve been to Amsterdam … and the NY time square is nice. Will they do anything there for New Years? Rhaorth…I still have your Movix LMs. What a great build that was. I wonder what the tallest building in SL is?

Nexus Prime has some large skyscrapers. Great sim in general to check out.

I know there's some cities with skyscrapers that I can't recall so I wracked my brain a bit. Here's some more suggestions:
New New York
Midian City
Gotham City
Midnight City
Most of these are dark, RP type sims. There's a couple more that have huge skyscrapers that I've been to but I can't remember them now. Hopefully they'll come to me later.

Its not skyscrapers, but one of my favourite city builds is Kowloon. Really great work, atmospheric streets, well worth an explore

Midnight City is a very atmospheric shopping mall. Great fun. Check out the Planetarium! I had a little look at Nexus Prime last night. Interesting! Very Bladerunner-ish. I gather there's a some kind of rp with puzzles for getting access to some areas? Quite a few locked doors and an intriguing digital door lock Nice rendition of Empire State at Hawthorne.

I've been to a creation of New York City before now. It was one of the first places I went to and I rezzed in a Metro station, in the Tram. That was pretty cool. But I think I was there at the wrong time because there was no one else around. There was even rubbish rolling along the ground lol.

I'm so sad that Raorth's lovely little slum is gone. And not even due to urban renewal! What a waste of great building.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I visited all of the ones mentioned so far and each was worth the visit. Exactly what I was looking for. Midnight City was a treat. Kowloon was very cool but after awhile I got claustrophobic and had to run outside to catch my breath…LOL

There is a cool skyscraper in San Gabriele only ten stories. But it does have a helicopter pad.
