Has anyone else been experiencing jerky movements in the last couple weeks? It doesn't matter where I go in SL it's always the same. I try to walk and it doesn't seem to work and then all of a sudden I'm 30 feet away. Same as trying to fly...I don't move at first and then next thing I know I'm into the next parcel.
My computer is only a few months old. And I don't have any other programs running when I'm in SL either. Any suggestions on what might be causing this or what I could do to fix it?

Hello Honey .. <cough!>
Is this a new development? It sounds like it might be. Can you tell us something about your PC specs, RAM, ISP connection? I have myself been getting a lot of semi-freezing of late, big trick being to let go of the controls as soon as you see yourself lagging.

I'd check how much disk space you have on your drive you're using for the secondlife cache, maybe a defragment. A 'clear cache' wouldn't hurt but I don't see that bandied about so often these days - I think maybe because the latest client isn't the memory leak it used to me. What sort of modem are you running? A tweak of your bandwidth in secondlifes profile might help too.

Memory leaks.
If clear cache and restart Second Life doesn't work, try clear cache and also a computer reboot. My computer has an unfixed video problem with my system. My computer's problem combined with Second Life's memory problems causes my computer to just go bonkers sometimes. I find that just clear cache isn't enough, reboot is required too.
After reboot, I don't have the jitter problems. For an hour or maybe two, if I'm lucky.

ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series SW TCL x86/SSE2

From: someone Graphics Card Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc. Graphics Card: RADEON XPRESS 200 Series SW TCL x86/SSE2 Both my son and I are using Toshiba Satellites and each of them are using this card. I just upgraded mine to 1 gig of RAM, his has 500 MB still but the issue we both are having is occasional Ruthing (characters turning into a woman) and then subsequent corruption of the clothing worn at the time, at least temporarily. A support ticket finally resulted in this: From: someone Unfortunately, it is as I suspected - your graphics card is one of those known to have problems with the Second Life software, please see http://secondlife.com/corporate/sysreqs.php for full details on supported hardware. Of course, on that page, this card is listed at the bottom, among those un-tested. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has any tweaks or tips to make this sound card operate more smoothly; it's sometimes very jerky for us, too and never smooth but I don't know how smooth a very good card would display SL.

I would probably add some memory less than 1 G of RAM might be tight... look at what other task apps you have running (left bottom part of your screen) those sometimes take a lot of RAM. Have you installed a new printer or some other device recently?
I would buy some more RAM... if possible.
